About me

When I cheated my way through art classes in school in my teens and my grandpa – a great, but also very perfectionist painter – gave me the impression that painting and I would probably never make a presentable couple, no one believed, least of all me, that I would one day find my way back to this art form with such joy and dedication. ππ
But in 2020 it happened – colors, shapes, light, shadow, minimalism, abundance, hidden and obvious – all the magic of life is allowed to express itself in my art.

My Art Journey
Traditional & modern watercolor techniques, digital watercolor painting, mixed media, a bit of acrylic and always a drop of some magical sparkling effects are my creative expression.
Predominantly self-taught, but I have also taken the following online courses:
Michele Bajona
//Topic: Portraits
David Poxon
//Topic: Art of Watercolour
Christian Koivumaa
//Topic: Watercolor Landscapes
Ana Victoria Calderon
//Topic: Traditional & Modern Watercolor Techniques
Katarzyna Kmiecik
//Topic: Dream-like Watercolor Landscapes
What I love most about watercolor is that you have to let go when painting and the certain something of the unpredictable, the out-of-itself-ness of this painting technique. You have to give up a great deal of control when painting with watercolor – more comprehensively than probably in any other style of painting. The water and pigments have their own unique dynamics. This can ruin a work that takes several days to complete, but it can also create a unique magic!

Motivation
For me, the focus is not on the art form itself, whether I make films, write books, paint, etc., but on the intention behind it.
I want to pass on art that touches, supports, reaches into the depth of being, makes the everyday special, depicts life’s confidence and beauty, and creates a connection to divine love.
Making magic visible in life – that is a matter close to my heart.
Inspiration
I am inspired in particular by the works of Caspar David Friedrich.
His images radiate for me a primal power, a deep spirituality and love of nature, life, God. His, for the time, revolutionary way of painting and the spiritual choice of motifs impress me. A deep world of feelings and connection can be revealed in the contemplation of his works.

For me, the central aspect of my art and multiple other activities is to connect with the divine.
Since 2015, with few exceptions, I devote myself daily to meditation.
My Christian faith is my source of inspiration and my center of strength.
I like to pass on my knowledge and experience in a down-to-earth, undogmatic, non-religious, unmissionary and dedicated way to interested people.
